| Description: | From 63rd Annual Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair Website: In August 1956, Burnsville hosted the first Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair to celebrate the talent and dedicated work of the people in Burnsville and Yancey County, North Carolina. Today the tradition continues each year on the first Friday and Saturday in August. The two-day event draws artists, craftspeople, musicians and food vendors from North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and beyond, and attracts thousands of people to Burnsville Town Square. This years event will be held August 2-3, 2019, Friday & Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
