Pamlico County Croaker Festival, an old fashioned family Independence Day celebration takes place on Friday and Saturday in the picturesque village of Oriental on the banks of the Neuse River. Festival features over 100 arts and crafts and food vendors, a kids' park, music on the main stage, a Friday night street dance, a spectacular parade on Saturday morning, topped off with fireworks over the harbor on Saturday night.
