Description: | From North Carolina Blackberry Festival Website: July through August is known to southerners as Blackberry Season, and for a good reason. Around that time, give or take a week, thousands and thousands of blackberries start popping up in everybody's back yard. Once the tangy red fruit turns all the way black, that's when the magic happens.
There's a feeling to a southern night that you can't find anywhere else. Little blue stained fingers and mouths run barefoot through the grass collecting lighting bugs in a mason jar, the sound of music in the air is almost as sweet as grandma's blackberry cobbler, smiles are painted across every face at the bonfire, the day's are longer and life seems simpler.
Memories are the fuel of this festival. We in Caldwell County want to share just how good a southern summer is to everyone, far and wide. We invite you to join us at the Annual North Carolina Blackberry Festival and experience it for yourself.
The three day festival boasts live music, a wide variety of both local and regional vendors, a diverse selection of food, the Little Miss Blackberry Pageant, The World's Largest Patchwork of Blackberry Cobbler, a parade, recipe and eating contests, a beer garden, and of course, lots and lots of blackberries!
We'll see you in July!
