Expanding our Christmas experience to include three weekends! A Merry Little Christmas Festival includes Star of Wonder, Star of Night in which the grounds, outbuildings and Manor House of Poplar Grove will be lit up and twinkling, so bring family and friends, and spend a small part of your evening under the stars with us.

A bonfire will be blazing for roasted marshmallows, food and gift vendors for something unique for those stockings, a letter writing station to post those little wishes to the North Pole, and an opportunity to visit Mr. or Mrs. Claus, or if you dare, peek inside the Grinchs Toy Junk Shop in the Blacksmith Studio. Admission is $5.00, and includes other activities for the family as well as food trucks and concessions.

Indeed, there are plenty of opportunities for the family to come together, including concurrent outdoor screenings of classic movie favorites, including The Polar Express, A Christmas Story at the Gazebo oh yes, do we have a pair of legs! Oops, I mean lamps! and Its A Wonderful Life projected in the courtyard of the Manor House.

This is an opportunity to spend time with your family without waiting in long lines, but rather strolling our grounds, taking a evening wagon ride under the stars through the Abbey Nature Trail, visiting local heritage craftpersons, meeting neighbors and friends, and glimpsing out into the night sky for a sign of Santas sleigh

In addition to this specially lit outdoor experience, Candlelight Tours will be offered through the eight rooms of the Manor House for $15 a person. Each room will be lovingly decorated by theme and color, including natural flora and greenery inspired by the Foys Colonial through Victorian family history with a few contemporary flourishes to echo the familys four centuries in coastal North Carolina. Advanced tickets required for candlelight tours includes admission to the Festival.

Dont forget to shop local at the Arts, Crafts & Gift Show a two-day shopping experience featuring over 90 local arts, crafts and gift vendors on Saturday and Sunday, December 9th & 10th. The is fun for the entire family!

Get in the Christmas spirit by meeting Mr. & Mrs. Claus, picture-taking with the farm animals, and scheduled readings of poplar Christmas Classics, such as The Polar Express, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Twas the Night Before Christmas. There will be on the hour wagon rides through the nature preserve, an opportunity to roast marshmallows, inflatables for your little rompers, but most especially finding that something special for those stockings, home and hearth.

Admission to day-time gift show is $5.00.
