Description:

From Halifax County Harvest Days Website:

Halifax County Harvest Days is shaping up to be an exciting and educational event. This annual festival will be held at the 4-H Rural Life Center on Highway 903 in Halifax. Bring your family and step back in time to midcentury life on the farm! See antique tractors in action and take a ride on a hay wagon. Encourage your kids to see how fast they can seed cotton or grind corn! Dont miss the peanut threshing. Make sure you come hungry and enjoy beef and pork roast, brunswick stew, hot dogs and free cookies! Rides and entertainment will make this a great day for the whole family!

The first Halifax Harvest Days was held October 10, 1992. The purpose and mission of the event was to promote the heritage, Southern hospitality and agrarian culture in Halifax County. Years later, the tradition continues and Halifax Harvest Days gets bigger and better each year. Festival goers continue to enjoy the heritage farm equipment such as antique tractors; farm exhibits and demonstrations such as the sawmill, peanut threshing and corn shucking; and lots of music and entertainment throughout the day. Visit the Educational Exhibits area at the Rosenwald School, which highlights the services available to all Halifax County citizens. Walk through the early 1900's Farm House to reminisce how our ancestors lived and be sure to go right next door to the Ag Museum to view the cotton display, farm equipment and glimpse pictures of honored military.
