Fall by the Tracks 5K Fun Run

Over the past 16 years we have put on Fall by the Tracks, which is a small festival in front of the Old Depot. We will have an apple press, kid's games, and demonstrations by the crafters. There will be food, activities, and old-fashion fun for the whole family!

The Fun Run is held at the Old Depot in downtown Black Mountain. The course is a flat run which will start at the Depot and take runners down Vance Avenue and across parts of the Black Mountain greenway. The Oaks Trail will take the runners to Recreation Park where they will run around the sports fields. Once finished with Recreation Park they will run back down the Oaks Trail to Vance Avenue then back to the Old Depot.

The Old Depot Association is a non-profit and volunteer run organization that was started in 1976 to protect and maintain the 104-year-old Train Depot and support the teaching of mountain and heritage crafts in the local Swannanoa Valley Schools. The purpose of the Fall by the Tracks Event is to raise funds to continue to support the arts (music, drama, and fine arts) in our schools.
