The Port City RibFest is a celebration of great BBQ and great music, with some other tasty libations thrown in.It features champion pitmasters from
around the country who participate on a summer circuit. These guys have been at their trade for a long time. Added to the succulent BBQ offerings
is a good helping of side items, desserts and a multitude of drink options.

The first annual Port City RibFest was held in August of 2013 in the park adjacent to the USS North Carolina battleship and on the shores of the Cape Fear River. 17 - 20,000 attendees braved the hottest weekend of the year to partake in the festivities.

The Port City RibFest is a member of NC's Premier Barbecue and Music Festivals (Premier BBQ Series) that is a four-city series sponsored by Carolina Blonde Beer and produced by AKA Entertainment & Media, a Greensboro based event production company that has been producing barbecue & music festivals for over 10 years.

We look forward to your coming out and tasting some of the best barbecue you have ever tried. Memphis-style, Chicago-style, Texas-style, even North Carolina style. And we're not just talking pork ribs either, there will be beef brisket, beef ribs, chopped or sliced pork, chicken and sausage. Save your appetites, you're going to need them. Afterwards, wander the marketplace
then down for one of the best collections of bands this town has ever seen.
