The 12th annual Day in Downtown Street Festival, organized by the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday, November 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held on Main Street in the historic downtown Fuquay retail district, the event will include live dance and music demonstrations, a juried arts & crafts fair, a beer & wine festival, and a food truck rodeo to create activities at all ends of the downtown area. Art vendors are currently being sought to display their wares for local residents just in time for holiday shopping. Interested artists must provide samples of their work to be considered for this festival, but the pricing is right and the timing is perfect for local shoppers.

The Kids Kourt area will include an art project booth run by the Cary Creative Center, and long-time standbys like the children's train, the climbing wall, the inflatable bouncers, and the carnival games. This area will be sponsored by several area churches, who are committed to making it a fun, family-friendly area with lots to do.

Food vendors will again be located on Raleigh Street, and will include a number of local food trucks as a new feature of the festival. Food truck participation will be announced on the Chamber's Facebook page as vendors sign on. There will also be two stages for entertainment -- one in the Vance Street parking lot for dance and martial arts demonstrations, and one in the Raleigh Street parking lot for local bands playing original music. The Beer & Wine portion of the festival will feature half a dozen local breweries and several local wineries in an effort to showcase that rapidly growing industry in our area. Tents and seating will be located along Raleigh Street for those enjoying the music, food, and beverages.

An annual feature of this event is the Fuquay Cruisers Car Club, who will showcase beautifully restored classic cars and street rods of all makes and models in front of Fidelity Bank.
