Come join us for the 34th Annual NC Oyster Festival, October 18-19, 2014 and find out for yourself why the oyster is so treasured by Brunswick County natives.

The beach center becomes a walking district that offers something for everyone: local cuisine, arts and crafts, children's activities, live music, Oyster Stew Cook-off and the Oyster Shucking Contest. New for 2014 we are adding an Oyster Eating Contest as well as a shag competition where folks will compete for the "Shaggin' Oyster" titles hosted by the Coastal Shag Club. So, come "Get your shag on!"

Leading up to the festival are our Annual Surf-off Competition on October 4 & 5, 2014. The following weekend we are launching a new and exciting event on October 11, 2014 - the Muddy Oyster Challenge. This is a 5k mud run hosted by Low Country Sports Preserve and ********.***. We are also excited to announce that our annual Road Race is being moved back to Oyster Festival weekend. It will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 and will include a 5K, 10K and 1 Mile Fun Run.

The Festival is made possible by the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and the support of many generous area businesses and a wonderful group of volunteers and, most importantly, the weekend's dedicated revelers.
