RiverFest

Theres something for everyone at RiverFest -- RiverLink's biggest party of the year. On August 9, 2014, we will mark 15 years for RiverFest, taking place at RiverLink Sculpture and Performance Plaza (144 Riverside Drive) from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The 2014 lineup features "Soldier's Heart," "Ashley Heath" and Plankeye Peggy.

This is a family-friendly event and RiverFest offers lots of fun for kids: face-painters, art supplies, hula-hooping, craft booths, and puppies from Brother Wolf. Kids can ride, skate, walk, run, and skip in costume in the Kids Parade, which always kicks off the festivities at 1:00 p.m.

It wouldn't be summer without the Anything that Floats Parade. Participants construct vessels out of anything that floats and parade them by the festival grounds. The only rules are they must float and must be powered by wind, solar or herculean human strength -- no motors allowed -- and be removed from the grounds upon completion of the race.

A variety of local food trucks will offer vegetarian and meat-loving options.
