| Description: | February is Black History Month when we will pay special tribute to the African-American contributions to our society. The show will remain in the Arts on Main gallery vault throughout the month of February. Any works celebrating African-American heritage especially in the Carolinas is encouraged to submit. Eligibility: All artists 18 years and older who are Gaston County Art Guild members may submit up to 2 entries at no charge to spotlight the contributions of African Americans throughout history and present. Non-members may submit with the $25 yearly membership fee. Photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry, printmaking and fiber are eligible. Presentation: All works should be prepared in a simple, professional manner. 2D Work should be prepared for display with appropriate hanging hardware. Please no sawtooth hangers. While there is no size limit for 2D works, 2D works on paper should be matted and framed under glass. Any canvas with stretchers less that 1 deep should be framed. Deeper canvases may be accepted without framing if the staples are on the back and the edges are professionally finished. 3D works will be limited to 200 lbs. The artist should assemble and position heavy or large pieces on site. Requirements: - All works must be available for sale. - All works must remain hung for the entire duration of the show. - A commission of 30% will be retained on all sales. - Each artist will carry their own insurance, if desired. - Any artwork that sells while on display to a party requesting shipping shall deal directly with the artist to arrange for shipping and the costs incurred.
